Creating a “Complete Swachh Bharat”

By on September 23, 2018

“Garbage, spill and dirty water, cries the bharat mata.
No one hears, and no one bothers, cries the bharat mata.”
Creating a “Complete Swachh Bharat”
Creating a “Complete Swachh Bharat”
Britishers considered us as the people from the third world and to some extent, they were correct because in life in such inhuman conditions that are not fit for human survival and this was the reason why they were successful in exploiting us and our country in each and every manner. Also after being independent of their reign, we are still almost in the same condition ruled by the garbage and living in the garbage and this garbage is not going to follow the path of Gandhi Ji. We have to fight back against it!!
We all know, after several years now the need for sanitation has come under the lens of the government and the initiative of creating a “Swachh and Sundar Bharat” has got the needed attention.
But, I have a question, by only removing the garbage from our surrounding; will our country gets its full and wholesome cleanliness?
One day you are cleaning your locality be it your office, college and school and you (including me) are the ones throwing a plastic bottle on the roads. Will that sort of cleaning make any sense?
Here, I am not ruling out the point that we do not need to keep our surroundings clean. We surely need to but not just for a day or due to some other reason. What we need is to inculcate the feeling of cleanliness in our hearts.
You know it is very important to understand what we need, what our heart needs; if Gandhi Ji would have taken the path of violence for the sake of others, we would still have been trapped in the chains of the British Empire. He made India independent through his thoughts because he was clear what he wanted. Similarly, in the context of cleaning our country, we need to feel clean and make others feel clean.
So, now the question is what I meant by saying ‘making others feel clean’?
From my aspect, making India clean does not specify that only visible waste is to be removed. Making India clean also means getting rid of all sorts of things that are harmful to a peaceful survival. So, it is essential that the waste deposited in our minds should also be removed. You know it is really unrealistic to call our brains as super brains because these are dirty brains, which narrates and sometimes also creates the stories of terrorism, rapes, murders, violence, molestations and the unforgettable dirty politics.
Nowadays, this can be witnessed in churches also, which is a holy place and is thought to be clean and free from every sort of grime but now it is witnessing cases of molestation of nuns by the so-called bishops, can you believe this?
So, with our surroundings, we need to clean our thoughts also.
After all this, the next most important aspect is to see to what extent the initiative taken by the government has been successful. I think it is our duty to appreciate any positive initiative and so the rule follows in this also. The objectives that were covered under this are making India open defecation free by constructing toilets in each and every household, proper waste management of solid waste, e-Learning and informing, educating and making each citizen of our country aware about the advantages and disadvantages of cleanliness.
The results of this campaign are positive and are expected to fulfill more goals.
“Swachhta ke hi sahare, payega bharat apna kinaara”
(India is going to find its way through all the odds with the help of cleanliness only.
