ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE- THE INDIAN LEGEND
WHEN YOU WERE BORN, YOU CRIED AND THE WORLD REJOICED. LIVE YOUR LIFE IN A MANNER SO THAT WHEN YOU DIE THE WORLD CRIES AND YOU REJOICE.
Although he has found a place in the abode of god still he will always be there in our hearts and it is not going to change. Our great leader SHRI ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE is no more with us and no one can define the amount of pain that everyone’s heart is going through.
BORN: 25 DECEMBER, 1924, GWALIOR, MADHYA PRADESH
DEMISE:16 AUGUST, 2018, NEW DELHI, INDIA
MARITAL STATUS: UNMARRIED
CHILDREN: NAMRITA BHATTACHARYA(adopted)
He was a Writer, Poet, and a Politician. His life was devoted towards Indian music and dance. His love for nature was eternal. He was mesmerized with the picturesque hills of MANALI, HIMACHAL PRADESH. He served THRICE as the PRIME MINISTER OF INDIA(in 1996, 1998 and 1999). He was the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and was the First Prime Minister not belonging to the INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS. He was felicitated with awards like PADMA VIBHUSHAN(1992) and BHARAT RATNA(2015). He deserved all these felicitations. He was a bold leader who shaped the future of India . in 1998, under his guidance the nuclear tests were done on the soil of our country, it somewhat created a tense environment but on a long-term move the whole country acknowledged his move and was with him. His team saw many ups and downs :
- KARGIL WAR- An armed conflict between India and Pakistan, which continued for long 3 months. 500 Indian soldiers sacrificed their lives but we won our Indian territory.
- Delhi- Lahore Bus Service- first transport medium between the two tensed nations which somehow eased the scenario.
- INDIAN AIRLINES HIJACK
- First US President visited India in 22 years
With all the good and the bad, we always saw a positiveness on our leader’s face.
One of his writings were:
“MY POETRY IS A DECLARATION OF WAR, NOT AN EXORDIUM TO DEFEAT. IT IS NOT THE DEFEATED SOLDIER’S DRUMBEAT OF DESPAIR, BUT THE FIGHTING WARRIOR’S WILL TO WIN. IT IS NOT THE dispirited VOICE OF DEJECTION BUT THE STIRRING SHOUT OF VICTORY.”
He was a great leader. I would like to say, may the departed soul “Rest In Peace” my thoughts and prayers are with you every time. Your life has ended but your legacy of wisdom, integrity, and courage will go on forever.
